Fruugo was founded in August 2010 through the merger of DTL (UK) and Fruugo OY (Finland). Since its inception, Fruugo has continued to grow and expand, launching in 23 countries around the world with access to a global content delivery network (CDN) that improves delivery speeds in remote areas.In 2015, Fruugo closed a $1.8 million private placement with investors including Lord Stuart Rose, former Chairman and CEO of Marks and Spencer, Inc. and former CEOs and CFOs of other national and international retailers.

Currently, Fruugo is localized in 23 countries/regions around the world. These countries/regions include EU countries such as Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom; non-EU European countries such as Norway, Switzerland, and Russia; and Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United States.

A business license and a legal identity card are required to join Fruugo. 15% of the sales amount as platform commission and 2.35% (including VAT) of the total transaction price as money processing fee. The payback cycle for orders without tracking number is 21 days after shipment, and for orders with tracking number is 14 days after signing. The collection method is auto-disbursing and you can use any bank account to collect the money.

There are four easy ways to integrate product data into the Fruugo system: using Fruugo's CSV and XML feeds; through partner integrations (Linnworks, Plentymarkets, and Visualsoft); using e-commerce plugins (Magento, Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, and Prestashop); and using Google Shopping Feed (coming soon).
